Seed Sowing has begun. Already many varieties of herbs, such as orange thyme, greek oregano, sage, and english thyme have germinated. This week I also sowed all the agastaches, and vincas that will be available this spring. I am really excited about the trailing vincas and Apricot Sprite Agastache that I grow each year. Love the fragrance from Apricot Sprite. Even though it is snowy and cold outside, it's warm and peaceful in the greenhouse. A nice place to be.

The holiday season is over for Marie's Garden. It was hectic but fun to design wreaths, arrangements and containers for my customers. Something about cutting all the fresh greens from my property and creating a wreath that really inspires me. The classes that were held in the greenhouse were fun and it's always nice to see familiar faces this time of the year. I hope all who left with their designed containers enjoy them throughout the winter.

Preperation for the spring season is already under way. I am excited about the new flowers that I discovered this past summer. My favorite new plant that I grew is Gomphrena 'Fireworks'. What a great 3 foot high full sun annual. Easy is all that needs to be said about this plant. Plant it in full sun, give it about 24" inches of space and you will be rewarded with color all summer and into the fall.

As in previous years, I will be growing new varities of plants this year. As the winter unfolds, I will be letting you know what new plants I am propogating. I am also collecting "odd" containers in which to design this spring. Who knows, what might be available for sale in April.

Happy New Year's to all! I hope it will be a happy and healthy year for all!
